Become a part of Bethesda’s Auxiliary. Help the people we support live the lives they choose and share the good news of Jesus Christ.

In love, we serve

The Bethesda Auxiliary is a network of people brought together to provide spiritual and financial support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities within Bethesda. The Auxiliary fosters Bethesda’s mission of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. The talents of more than 3,400 members create connections—in the church and in the community—that help the people Bethesda supports pursue their faith.

In Oregon, the Auxiliary volunteers with Bethesda’s ministry consultants to run Bible studies for people Bethesda supports. In Washington, the Auxiliary coordinates a massive soup label collection. The soup labels are exchanged for gift cards that are used to buy items for the people Bethesda supports. In Texas, the Auxiliary raises money by honoring the memory of cherished loved ones.

Get involved

The Auxiliary’s reach expands beyond the states in which Bethesda provides services. There are even Auxiliary units in Alaska and Hawaii that raise money, donate goods to Bethesda Thrift Shops, craft raffle items and
pray for the people Bethesda supports. Auxiliary members also engage people at conventions and pastoral conferences across the country. The Bethesda Auxiliary continues to grow nationwide, providing service opportunities to people of all ages. The Auxiliary currently serves in the following states and regions:

  • North Unit: Northern California, Nevada and Hawaii
  • Pacific Southwest Unit
  • Colorado Unit
  • Oregon Unit
  • Washington and Alaska Unit
  • Idaho Unit
  • Utah Unit
  • Texas/Louisiana: Bethesda’s Good Samaritan Home Women’s Auxiliary
  • Wisconsin Unit

If you do not live in an area supported by a unit, we encourage you to become a member or organize a unit in your area and begin making an impact today. We invite you to contact us to learn more about how you can get involved.

Birthday Box Project

The Bethesda Auxiliary delivered Birthday Boxes to the Bethesda home in Coon Rapids March 27, 2018. The boxes will help staff plan birthday events for those supported by Bethesda. The Birthday Box Project is just beginning. We hope to provide these boxes in all 13 states where Bethesda supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The focus of this project is to involve congregations and youth in disability ministry.
